There Might Be No Saving the World's Top Banana: Six decades after a banana-killing fungus all but wiped out plantations across Latin America, a new strain threatens to destroy global harvests.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??

The entire world is fucked - bees and now bananas. If anyone thinks these aren't related, please I beg you to open up your understanding.

The Earth is a collection of intimately related, living systems. From being electrically coupled to the Sun, to micro-organic colonies that spread for miles in the subsoil, from the vast rivers of water vapor that dwarf the Amazon moving across our atmosphere, to the heat levels at the top of the ocean - IT'S ALL CONNECTED.

The reason the Earth is fucked is very simple - we don't take care of it. And that's EVERY COUNTRY. NO ONE is doing enough.

We don't have an Earth strategy for resources, instead we have War. And because we worship War, the Garden suffers. It's fucking pathetic, and I'm ashamed to call myself a human with the mess we've made.

Earth Strategy. Earth Resources. Earth Pollution and Population. Earth Problems. EARTH SOLUTIONS.

Please, everyone wake the fuck up to our situation, it goes beyond War, beyond resources, beyond borders, and beyond global climate change, though that is our most pressing trouble. Our food supply continues to be mishandled by giant agribusinesses with low morals and a market structure that could be described as completely fucking insane.

The solutions need to be global, globally considered and globally applied. We require global consensus on best practices, and that includes food cultivation that doesn't rely on additive chemistry like pesticides or biologicals like antibiotics. One ideal for food management and distribution (with multiple solutions, obviously) that promotes the well-being of OUR HOME, Planet Earth. Period.

A world without bananas is a Fallen World, as far as I'm concerned. A testament to the Great Mistake we're making, pissing our entire planetary moment down the drain and canceling the future of humanity.

Save the Banana is not a bumper sticker I ever want to see. Shame on our monoculture stupidity. Now we'll have a GM banana engineered to resist and here comes the banana zombie apocalypse. Can't wait to starve to death....
