Why is there more dignity of labour in Western countries as compared to India?

I think apart from the very wealthy most classes of people mix together. Starting from an early age , a large school in an urban area will have people from all classes, backgrounds , as education is free and you go to whichever school is closest. This continues in University as you can get student loans to pay for all your univeristy . So I guess for the first 20 years of your life you will get used to socialising with people from all kinds of backgrounds , and this is likely to continue into adult hood? In the UK there is definately a class divide , between middle class and working class , but this is largely based on culture , etiquette , the way you talk etc rather than profession.
