why is there more MTF than FTM when to comes to trans people?

Please feel free to share with us your statistic. I’ve found that it’s actually quite difficult to get good data about the ratio of trans men to trans women in society because there’s a whole lot of confounding factors in play. For example, a report from the US social security administration showed that “among the likely transgender people who changed their names with the administration,” more than 135,000 in total since 1936, 65 percent were trans men and 35 percent were trans women. But the study only covers “likely transgender people,” not “all transgender people,” and only looks at those who changed their names with a particular US agency.

Likewise, a most recent California trans demographic survey from the Williams Institute (a well-respected institution for this sort of thing) lists trans Californians as being 54% male and 46% female by original birth certificate. But this is just a survey in one US state that might or might not have captured all trans people. Indeed, they found a significantly lower ratio of trans people to the general population than many other surveys have found.
