OMG yes today!!! I am still so mad about this. I can't be too specific due to privacy but essentially I took a group of people who hired me to a winery for the purpose of wine tasting. I have tried to work out a professional deal with this winery before (I will be bringing you customers, do you want me to make reservations/charge us for tastings?) but they were always super chill, told me there was no need. Just show up, taste whatever, they assured me several times.

I've brought them at least hundreds if not thousands of dollars in business but today I had a group and I just let them know we were there to taste some wine. They started throwing up all this shit, I had to have a reservation, my group was too big (only four people wanted to taste out of a total of six wanted to taste, etc.) I cannot deal with a business that keeps shifting the boundaries on me. Last week I took a couple there who didn't buy anything, which is extremely rare, so when I brought another group in a few days later I got a snotty "Are you actually going to buy some wine this time?" I have literally had people buy cases from this place.

Anyway, we got jerked around for 20 minutes I was finally like, 'Hey, it's cool, we're going to just go on to our next stop, i.e. your competitor," and that's when they started to freak out, like "we can work it out" and I'm like "You guys can be consistent in your policies and try to make an agreement with me but you can't be nebulous"

I swear Germans do not know how to make money and customer service makes no sense to them. I told them we'd happily pay for a tasting, just give us a scheme to work with. I'm still mad. Like, we can help each other make money, or we could have, but given the way no one in this winery talks to each other and the bullshit I just don't want to deal with them anymore. They embarrassed me in front of clients, so there goes a big chunk of those sweet American tourist dollars, assholes.

Still mad. I really like their wine, though.
