There’s a Long List of Democrats Trump Should Fear in 2020. Biden Isn’t One of Them.

Recent data from SurveyMonkey shows that Trump is losing support among women — particularly non-college-educated white women and minority women generally — pretty steadily. A female candidate like Elizabeth Warren (who has a sharp populist message especially tailored to white working-class voters), Kirsten Gillibrand, or Kamala Harris might exploit that Trump vulnerability. Another key factor in Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss was poor turnout among African-Americans. Black candidates Harris and Cory Booker — or possibly even Oprah Winfrey — could make a big difference among that demographic group.

This is such a weirdly-written article, but this right here is a special sort of absurdity.

You don't have to run black candidates (or Oprah, whose show was most popular among white women, JFC) to get black folks to the polls. You have to run candidates that black folks can be reliably sure will promote their interests in government. HRC lost badly among that demographic because paternalistic whites on the left thought that black people would forget the 1990s, and the Dems usually treat black voters as their personal political patrimony. I hope they learn the lesson of 2016 in 2020.
