Is there a strong audience on XB1 who want more JRPG's?

It's hard to answer the "is there an audience" question because we don't have data on xb1 owners broken down by demographic or genre preference. We do know concretely that the xb1 sells very poorly in Japan, and this may be a chicken/egg situation - does it sell poorly because it doesn't have JRPGs or does it not have JRPGs because it sells poorly?

Personal views backed by no concrete evidence whatsoever incoming

I think it's the former - when the original Xbox came out to compete with the PS2 and Gamecube, it didn't even have the biggest name JRPGs to offer to its playerbase (like Kingdom hearts or Final fantasy) - instead it made its name through Halo in the western market and that's where the console's fanbase as a whole developed. Unfortunately, the Japanese couldn't care less about FPS games and the western market finds JRPGs for the most part childish so Japan and Xbox just never really meshed. Thankfully with the 360 we saw Square Enix finally go multiplatform with its releases, unfortunately those releases were very, very underwhelming compared to the efforts they had even with the PS2 - The Last Remnant and Final fantasy 13 were absolutely abysmal games and were nowhere near the quality of FFX or even FFXII on the PS2. I think this pushed the Xbox crowd further from the genre because they tried out the games because of the hype that surrounded them and then received some of the worst JRPGs in years and thought man, is this all the supposedly biggest and greatest JRPG studio out there could come up with? (Regardless of who you think makes the best JRPGs, Square is and always has been by far the most well known studio to make them).

So here we are, a slew of underwhelming games later and interest in JRPGs is really at minimal level among xb1 owners - even in this sub, which I assume is probably one of the XB1 communities that is the most accepting of JRPGs, has 100 posts about "when will we get a proper MLB game" for every post like this one asking for JRPGs. What's the solution? It might seem somewhat simplistic to say Square Enix needs to save the day, but I really do think that's what will drive demand for the genre on XB1 - FFXV and KH3 being the absolute masterpieces they should be after a decades worth of development for each of them. I find this issue with anime frequently as well - there aren't many worth watching out there but the ones that do deserve your time are real works of art. Unfortunately, they're mostly(!) older shows/movies with unimpressive animation by today's standards.

I'll finish with my personal view, which somewhat contradicts the opinion I've probably established in the above paragraphs: I don't need or have a burning desire for any other JRPG releases on the XB1. I've outgrown most of them, and the ones I am still really excited about (again, FFXV and KH3) are significantly influenced by childhood nostalgia and will be released on the XB1. I do believe however that JRPGs can be some of the best offerings available on a console to make it kid friendly, and are a much better/more interesting option for elementary/middle school kids to play than lego games or kinect sports. I really think there could be no harm in bringing more JRPG options to the console, but there are likely many financial barriers that might just be too large to overcome at this point in time for microsoft.
