There's probably a stranger out there that remembers you just because you were nice to them when they had a bad day

I came out of a CVS one time and there was a guy sitting on the curb next to a mangled bike who was clearly in a lot of pain and homeless. Apparently someone sideswiped him with their car and drove off, wrecking him and his bike in the process. I offered to take him to the emergency room and put his bike in my trunk and waited with him for the afternoon while he got looked at (sprained elbow and a concussion) and then took him to a mcdonalds for food and then to a shelter where he was staying. I don't even know why I did all this. I just saw him sitting there and he looked like he really needed someone to help him so I did and it just sort took off from there. Hope he's doing better now, where ever he is.
