My son used to watch these random Ryan Toys Review videos or whatever, initially they were kind of innocuous, but they got dumber and dumber. And then YouTube starts pushing you more to these types of things and I just pulled the plug entirely. For a while I just told him YT was broken and then as he got older I explained that there is a LOT of garbage on it. He doesn't even ask about it anymore unless he wants to see how a toy looks and I always watch it with him.

There is SO much stuff like this. What gets me is how much of it involves a very creepy older guy who looks like he never gets any sleep. Just yelling at the camera and acting like he was dropped into a Nickelodeon sitcom from 2010. And a lot of them are fucking weird -- you start being shown ones where their kids are kidnapped and tied up, or some giant CG-animated spiders are trying to eat them.

Or then you're shown claymation of popular characters, that eventually devolves into characters like Elsa being pregnant and being given c-sections.

YT is poison, I haven't let my kid touch it in years. Even the YT Kids thing, which at least let you permanently block a video, is full of this garbage.
