"Theresa tells me that my pension might reduce. Sturgeon can't even tell me what currency my pension would be paid in, if she has her way and we end up independent"

The Pensions Minister gave evidence to the HoC Scottish Affairs Select Committee, prior to the last i-referendum, to the effect that the Treasury would continue to be responsible for payment of pensions. He did say this obligation might be transferred to the Scottish Government reducing the amount of the UK's debt that Scotland would have to take on (achieved through a negotiated settlement).

The Treasury is who you and your employer have been paying your NIC's to all these years and your NIC's are the basis of your entitlement to a state pension. Workers who have come across from Europe and worked here long enough and paid enough contributions will receive a UK state pension (all be it at a reduced rate if they don't spend their entire working life here - but that is the same for UK citizens).

So in the first instance you can reply "££££££££££££££".

This is one of the few things we actually had clarity on before the last referendum - though you wouldn't have known it from the MSM.
