These kind of people.

As a dad who loves his car, I just want to share a bit of insight here. I’ve always treated my cars like my baby. I spend money on little things for it every week and am always looking into solutions for car problems I don’t even have yet, and even now with a 10 month old that’s no different.

I respect other people’s cars because of this, and have always shown the utmost caution in close parking situations (mostly parking garages). I always assume that someone would want their car treated just as well by me as I would treat my own car. However, I have personally lightly dinged 3 cars in the past 10 months, and I’ll explain the factors that came into play.

First and foremost, when you have a baby, and especially if you also work overtime, you’re just tired as shit. You’re always tired. You realize you don’t many hobbies hobbies as a choice, because you’re just too damned tired to get up and do them when you have free time. This can understandably limit motor function, especially during benign tasks that you’ve done thousands of times before, i.e. open a car door.

Now, add the fact that your kid is basically strapped into a giant reinforced lifeboat, and you have to twist and turn it in just the right way to get it out of the car, all without being able to actually lean inside of the car (because you can’t open the door all the way, Or in my case because you’re too tall.)

When you’re put in this situation, every once in a blue moon, you’re reflexes, the bulkiness of the car seat, the proximity of the car beside you, and one little twist brings the whole car seat promptly out of the car, child and all, rocketing you backwards into your door, quite possibly injuring yourself and leaving a white scratch on the minivan next to you.

TLDR; what I’m saying is that it happens. This person is more than likely someone who has accidentally bumped someones car, then saw this sticker and thought it was funny. I personally wouldn’t use the sticker, but I would absolutely understand a persons logic if I saw one, and would offer no judgement towards them for using it.
