"They're just a teenager" shouldn't be an excuse to defend an idiot like James Charles

Totally agree. Here's 13 reason why we the public should keep treating James Charles the way we are treating them.

  1. Straight men have no real social power and should not be expected to advocate for their autonomy and boundaries when talking to a gay man who is their same age or younger and not their employer.
  2. There is no social stigma attached to homosexuality and no gay/queer person has ever tried to distance themselves from a homosexual experience they have had by reasserting the fact that they are "straight."
  3. The best way to deal with someone having transgressed sexually is by attempting to destroy their ability to make money.
  4. It is totally impossible to sympathize with someone who feels they have been manipulated sexually without also completely demonizing the person who made them feel this way and labelling that person a "sexual predator."
  5. Everyone is fully mature by age 19, especially when it comes to their behavior sexually.
  6. Having a sexual interest in "straight" guys is a form of abhorrent degeneracy and not a relatively common kink amongst gay men that is literally memed about all the time.
  7. Tati is an inherently good person, and it's not at all cruel or unusual to act as a mother figure to someone and then publicly drag them because they did something that may have cost you money.
  8. Tati almost doubling her subcount in 72 hours after making her video about James is just a happy accident and not something she totally expected to happen.
  9. None of the men accusing James of manipulating them have anything to gain by doing so.
  10. Not a single one of the 3 million people who unsubscribed from James Charles have ever conducted themselves incorrectly in the sexual arena.
  11. None of the people tearing James down in comments/memes are motivated by jealousy and secretly wish they were him.
  12. The version of the story the public is getting is 100% the truth. James is certainly not reluctant to defend himself for fear of an even more extreme backlash.
  13. Cyberbullying isn't even really a thing.
