Things About Protoss You Need To Accept - Battle.Net Forums

When you hold down one button to morph a huge number of larvae at once, or to train units from 12 different barracks at once, the game registers each unit produced as a different action,

I can do the same thing with Protoss by selecting what unit type I want to warp in, hold shift and c (my ability cast alternate) and warp things in just as fast as Zerg or Terran.

Add in the fact that your units are less supply-intensive than Protoss and thus you’ll be producing more of them

This isn't necessarily true and qutie frankly, production APM doesn't contribute significantly to your APM unless your APM is low to begin with.

that you don’t have to manually pan your camera back to a warp field to macro which makes macro during battle easier,

Right it's not like we have to inject every cycle or that Terrans have to drop mules or anything. Or that I have to reset rally points so my stuff doesn't die being rallied into a deathtrap (which is also something you don't really have to worry about with warp ins, you just warp shit in wherever there's a pylon)

Unless you are playing straight Mech Terran, Protoss is less mobile than you are.

Blink stalkers are pretty damned mobile, warp ins can be pretty mobile with warp prisms, phoenixes are mobile- what isn't particularly mobile are the a-movey compositions that protoss tend to prefer- like chargelot immortal archon. Hell there aren't even sentries in that most of the time.

Protoss players have to worry more about building placement than you do, and the map pool affects us far more than it does you.

Yes because Terrans don't have to wall against Adepts or anything we fucking Zerg make.

As much as you hate Pylon Overcharge, we hate it just as much or more, but it’s your fault that we have it.

The ugly truth is that Protoss "need" photon overcharge because of their warp ins. It's self-inflicted. Overcharge and warp ins simply did not exist in Broodwar or Original and Protoss did ok. Why is that? Well quite frankly, the games weren't balanced around something that didn't exist until SC2. If Blizzard really wanted to, they could completely remove overcharge and balance the game around that but they don't because it's one of the defining abilities that Protoss has relied on throughout all of SC2. They could have gotten rid of mules, chrono and injects too but they didn't for the same reason. They did nerf them in LOTV to reduce the penalty incurred by imperfect play but they're still very much there by design.

Protoss is not a-move, and we don’t play Protoss because we’re dumb, want an easier game, like to cheese, don’t want to macro, are slow, can’t micro, can’t adapt to change

I think that's mostly true at higher levels of play but realistically, Protoss is easier to learn how to play than the other races are at the most basic levels. I know because I was Protoss since Starcraft Original was released until HOTS. Almost 15 goddamned years. I picked up Protoss in the beginning because I liked all the neat tech they had and they were easy to learn the basics for. I stayed with them for a long time because they were what I knew and switching is hard and takes some time to get back to the level of play you started as.

There are Protoss players who are better at Starcraft than you, and when they beat you or win a tournament, it is probably because they were the better player.

That's also true of every Terran or Zerg that has ever killed you. I hope you remember that the next time you get pissed off when one of them beats you.
