Things a former Albertan doesn't understand

I can't dialogue with people like you, partly because you're rude and aggressive, and because you do not understand the use of nuance in writing. To you and others like you, every thing is black and white.

I don't expect Albertans to diversify! I expect private industries and government to lead the way on that and I think there are gross failures on both parts.

Next, since being in Ontario I've seen a massive amount of innovation here and there's a huge startup culture across the whole of Southern Ontario. So the Western provinces are not only home to innovation.

You dismiss actual evidence from banker as bullshit. You adopt a we versus them attitude. Instead of seeking supporters in the so-called east to help push your concerns forward with Ottawa, you lump everyone into one single entity towards which you direct abusive anger. Expressed like that, there's nothing righteous or admirable about your anger, even though it's understandable. Blame games have never gotten any one anywhere, and anything powered by anger, hatred, or intense dislike will eventually fail. History has proven that a thousand times over

I do believe that some of the fundamentals of Confederation needs reworking. If in the unlikely event Alberta or a group of Western provinces leave Canada, remain aware that a majority of people in Western provinces will not choose to separate and, if pushed, would probably relocate to the east to remain Canadian. Your population base and hence tax base would be very small indeed.

With your attitude let's hope you'll not be at the negotiating table during or after separation.

I expect only swearing and more abuse to this response, and so be it, so I will sign off and sincerely wish the west well.
