Things kids do where you work?

Thrift shop. -We bag smaller toys. There's this family that has 5 kids who come in a few times a week and the parents let them play in the toy section alone. Frequently, we find them sitting in mountains of ripped open bags of toys. -They play hide and seek in the clothing racks. -There's a frequent customer who comes in with her autistic son. Most of the time, he stays with her but once he wandered off into the production area in the back of store, while the staff back there was off, so he wasn't immediately noticed. A recycler found him sitting on a cart of books but that doesn't change the fact that the kid could have found something more dangerous to play with. Mother was found and swore up and down that she thought the kid was in the other isle. -We sell brand new costumes during the Halloween season. Teenagers think the cashiers are stupid and will attempt to switch the adult Halloween costumes (more expensive and more revealing) onto the child equivalent packaging (cheaper with more material) and insist that's how they found it. One time, a girl and her friend tipped themselves off when they left the switched costume they were leaving behind in the change room for the supervisor to notice and only because it was one of the last adult unicorn costumes and lo and behold the child costume is on it. When the two came through the till, they were busted with the non accusing 'Oh hey, there's an adult costume on this kids hanger! What are the chances?'. Needless to say, the cashier was bombarded with 'Why are the adult costumes so expensive! We should be able to get it for this price considering that this is how we found it! They're basically the same thing!" They had to call mom to come pay the $40. -Children are often more fascinated by the more shiny breakable junk we sell. They'll run around the store with it to show their mom and promptly drop it when they take a corner to fast.
