Things you wish you knew prior to moving to Taiwan.

You can't judge Taiwan by the city you live in. There are diverse experiences possible in Taiwan.

Some people might love taipei hate Tainan, or vice versa. There are really really big differences in the climate between north and south Taiwan.

Huge..believe me I have lived in both for years and it's like a different country in winter.

Also the experience of Taiwan is very different if you have a )more income b )more time c)local relatives or understanding of Chinese d) single and wild or family man.

Very different experiences. There's no fixed Taiwan.

Last of all.

Taiwan keeps changing. You think Taiwanese hate milk. Then they love milk. You think they don't eat pizzas, then there's pizzas everywhere. You think they like American culture, then Korean soaps completely take over. You think they would never picnic in park, then everybody is out wearing white suits and taking hampers!

The place does change over time. Someday Taiwanese kids might even be able to tell their parents to piss off....some day!
