Thinkpad T480

The processor in itself is a big reason to look at upgrading to the t14 or disregarding they t480, the new chips are leagues better than 8th gen intel chips in the t480. Its way better for a similar price. That in itself compensates for it having 16gb under the t480 max ram. But if I am wrong do correct me, I’m just going along with what I’ve read online I could be wrong

On the topic of fail, the t480 isn’t bullet proof, i was looking at purchasing one and I did research online,. The amount of issues t480 users have is mind boggling. I do agree, it would’ve been way better to have a non soldered ram but hey ho.

Storage? The t480 is limited on m2 ssd speeds too, if you was to stick any m2 drive it would only max out at 2000mbs the only other route is using a 2248 ssd but there isn’t any on the market with abit storage.

And on battery, honestly, changing an internal battery isn’t even the end of the world, and with the new chipset it’ll probably do better than the t480

I was going to go for a t480 but I’d much rather wait for the t14 and see how good it is.

I do agree however, in terms of new thinkpads it’s t480 all the way, wouldn’t touch the t480s or the t9xx
