I met a lot of Israeli's back in 2005, there seems to be a before/after conscription effect and also based on where the service is, i.e. being a 99er probably doesn't have a good outcome on a person. In summary, many nice Israeli's but some that seemed messed up.

Chile is predominantly a Catholic country but Irish did speak out against Pinochet. It's good to see Jewish people speaking out, e.g. https://jewishvoiceforpeace.org

I think for Ireland it's like the US. We relate to Israeli's and think Israel can be better. I personally don't relate to Saudi's, they seem medieval.

The whole thing is just sad. Hopefully there'll be a peaceful resolution some day.
