To those that truly believe in the inevitable, fast approaching collapse. I DARE YOU TO LIVE FOR A DAY.

Thank you for writing this, reinforces to me that I chose the right path. I quit my job 8 years ago at 55. Gave away most of my possessions and now live a really simple life. I surf, mtn bike, paddle board, kayak, read, volunteer, hobbies etc. essentially all free stuff :) I'm healthy as fuck and live in the beautiful state of Oregon , I think my health might be related to genetics, a stress free life, working out daily, and my love of the outdoors. I almost died about 9 years ago from a stroke. Spent a few weeks in intensive care. There were people in the other rooms in the final stages of life . It convinced me I would never let myself die in a hospital bed or nursing home. I can honestly say I have no fear of death. I've had a great life. However I have a huge fear of ever having to work in corporate America again :)!It's corny but I wake up everyday with tremendous gratitude and the feeling of freedom , I get by spending very little money. To me I love the simplicity . If I end up living in a tent eating rice and beans, no electronics or car, no problem:) as long as I have my freedom. However most Americans have a deep desire to spend and consume. Consume material items, celebrities , politics and societies dramas. It's their choice .
