Only wedding where I’ve been to the whole ceremony, friend of my dads. Sat behind grooms extended family, during the ceremony one kid is complaining of stomach issues, keeps being told to shush, eventually quietens down.

A couple hours later at the reception, just as the bride and groom are doing their dance, someone yells “Oh my god, he’s only having a shit!”

I’m sat across the hall and I watch as this dude hoists the bottomless kid over his shoulder, and makes a mad dash for the loos. The kid was still in the process of relieving himself so he left a brown trail all the way through the reception.

What we found out later was that the family hadn’t bothered to take the kid to the toilet between the ceremony and the reception, and were hoping he could wait until the bride and grooms dance was over, however, one family member had misunderstood the child’s need for the toilet and had handed him a bottle and said “Go in that,” so the kid dropped trou, and had attempted to use the bottle. It did not work.

I wouldn’t say it ruined the wedding but it really put a downer on the whole event as suddenly everyone was concerned for the well-being of the kid.
