It's comments like these that scare the hell out of me.

Antifa attacks people for Trump support. The moderately popular opinion here on Reddit- that antifa is justified in these attacks- suggests to me that Reddit believes neo-nazis to be neither extremists nor uncommon, that they are the typical example of the opposing side, that most Republicans are exactly as bad and worthy of violent suppression.

People will post their experiences of being attacked by Antifa, only to be downvoted because it's assumed they're making things up to mar the image of a good cause.

There are the stories, even videos, of things from them pepper-spraying a woman in a red hat to them bashing someone's head in with metal poles, but all of this seems to get set aside so casually. After all, our soldiers fought Nazis, so we should be justified in murdering members of a group that we consider equal to them, right?

I cannot see a group that acts in this way as justified. I do not support the death penalty, especially in cases where the crime is political dissent, especially enacted by an armed mob.
