Those who ETS'd, questions about post Army employment.

How early from your ETS date did you start looking for jobs? About 3-4 months out.

Did your employer hold your job for you until you ETS'd? Yes. I simply explained my situation and they were more than willing to work with me.

Can the Army separate you any earlier if you have a solid job lined up? Nope.

Was it a problem for any of your employers that you were awaiting ETSing? Nope

Be prepared. Don't expect to have things handed out to you because you're a veteran. It just doesn't work that way. Start applying a few months out. Remember that online applications will take a little longer to go through. So if you don't hear anything back within the first 3 weeks after submitting don't get discouraged. Make sure that your resume is on point and well written.

You should have been saving already for your ETS date. Make sure that you can afford the area that you're going to. If you aren't working right away make sure you get unemployment set up.

If anyone needs help looking for work, getting their resume set up or really any other questions feel free to PM me.
