To those who have 'gotten out' - did being in a DB have a lasting effect on you?

I haven't been able to break up because my lack in self confidence when it comes to my value on the modern dating market.

I broke up some months ago but I pussied out and accepted relationship therapy. I'm afraid my biggest reason to stay is because I'm afraid to end up forever alone.

Last time I was single was 12+ years ago. Online dating wasn't that much of a thing, neither was social media. Having single friends of both gender, dating seems really fucked up on both sides these days. 80%+ of men just being ignored all together and women with very unrealistic expectations all aiming for those top 10-15% of guys.

The emphasis on height some women have is insane. And I'm a short guy so sucks for me.
