To those who were raised without ever being taught about religion, how was it growing up and finding out what religion is later in life? And are you now religious or are you still not interested?

I am very interested since ISIS became a major force. I wanted to understand what made people do bad things who weren't bad people. Then I began thinking about the fact people sincerely believe these things.

I used to think people were bluffing, that everyone privately knew it was impossible to know for certain, I was dead wrong,

Have since read the Old Testament, New Testament, some of the Talmud, Quran, Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim (Hadith), Sira (Biography of Muhammad)

I have started taking it quite seriously and I am both attracted to it and repelled by it.

Still don't believe in god but I am really curious about what it must feel like to believe in an afterlife, is incredible to me.
