To those of you without teeth - what is it like to gum everything you eat?

Not sure of the age. Earlier than 15; probably later than 12 or so.

I hesitate to answer the second part because I'm not one to go back and blame my parents about things. I'm old enough to realize that they were human beings too with their own struggles and issues to deal with.

That said, the dentist they took me to used to hurt me so much while giving me injections to numb my teeth for working on them, that I began refusing the injections.

My mother was sitting in the waiting room waiting. He never asked her what she wanted to do or to make any decision. He just did the drilling anyway. She had to have heard me.

After those times, I've been to a dentist once in the other sixty years of adult life.
