Thought my boyfriend was going to play with me

I'm sorry for you to experience this, as I've had this experience, far too many times. Not just an ex boyfriend, but from old friends alike, too. Although it's not an MMORPG, but it was a shooter (Destiny 1 & 2 when it was new) that I wanted to try, since I have little to no experience in it and just wanted to play something different.

Being told, or promised that someone will play with you and end up getting ditched is the worst feeling ever, especially if it's a new genre that you want to try, and spend some good times together and it never happens. I guess in my case, it's the fact that I had to be babysat in order to pick up on it, and not many people are willing to be patient with me, so most of the time, I ended up playing alone, or just make the most out of the story mode, then call it quits.

Perhaps, when there's a chance, you can sit down and talk about it with your boyfriend so he acknowledges how you felt and hopefully, you both can come up with a compromise to somehow remedy the situation. Relationships are mostly about respect, trust, taking 40%, and giving 60% (at least these are numbers that I find fair to me). My ex boyfriends were not willing to at least yield a little bit for me, not just only games, but many other issues, so I ended up dumping him to let him rot in his game because I don't need a "boy" who is selfish, and don't value our relationship at all.

Either way, I hope you can enjoy New World, because not only it's a new MMORPG on the market, but I do like the story they had going with beautiful interface design, and graphics, as well as the use of typefaces. Maybe you can try the friend finder megathread from this subreddit and see if you can find someone else to play with in the meantime? It's not going to feel the same with your boyfriend, but at least, you'll have someone to play with. :]
