I thought people would start addressing The Batman's flaws by now, but I guess I was wrong

The Batman of course shares a lot of similarities with Se7en, but it's strange to say what The Batman should have copied from it, instead of looking at what The Batman was doing in its structure of the mystery. Batman may not have been close to catching the Riddler, but what it does do is expose him to the criminal conspiracy that lies at the heart of not just the story, but also drives home the central theme of the movie. Batman has been doing this for two years and his outlook on this self-appointed duty has been so wildly schewed that he misses the corruption that lies at the heart of Gotham. This doesn't just expose Bruce's flaws but also works to provide the Riddler as his foil, both in who they are targeting and how they target them.
