I think there’s a huge difference between unprofessional and just unique, and nicknames and cutesy legal names. But there is a line, in my opinion.

I’m sorry but Blake is going to be taken more seriously than a grown man named Blayze. There are lots of unique, yet very real, names out there... you don’t have to choose from the top 100 or even 1000.

I’m not saying it should be this way, but it is, whether NN’s like it or not. And I’m not saying they can’t have success, but why set your kid up with a harder shot?

At the end of the day it’s not my kid to name, but the fact that they get so mad at people giving thoughtful advice about choosing names on a baby name sub is absurd. Like if you want to name your kid Abcde, go for it, but don’t ask for people’s honest opinions/advice if you don’t want to hear it.
