Your thread sounds confusing, I'm not sure where you want to get. But there is a big difference between Overwatch and MMOs. It's a teambased game and not choosing to play a hero because of gender is really bad. Like, how can you play a full support role if you don't play female characters? That's kinda messed up tbh.

But there's no problem in prefering X avatar in an MMO. In fact, most of people always pick similar characters in different games because it's what they relate. I'm, for example, male and gay and I only play male characters on MMOs or games I can create my own characters, because that's what I identify to and feel attracted to.
