To be honest, strikers are the broadest specialist position if you ask me. You have your big target men who often score from 1 or 2 touches, your playmakers and link up ball holders, have your fast run behind defenders, you have some dribblers that are outstanding and hold up and link up play but lack goals of their own not saying that one can’t do it all but it seems like there’s a big Venn diagram with striker attributes and Chelsea switch coaches far too often to play a certain way. If. There’s a reason almost every recognized striker that’s bought usually starts really well and then drops form. Morata, Lukaku, even Werner had really good first games, was just really unlucky to be offside marginally or hit the post so much, what Chelsea should try to focus on is a team player and focus on goals from the wingers/midfield. Mason so far is putting up some good numbers, and Reece and Chilwell, although wing backs were putting up many as well, right now I see very talented wide players/forwards on the squad that just don’t fit together. Are you gonna ping in crosses with Ziyech or pall the ball to Callum/Pulisic to try and dribble in for a low cross?
