Thoughts on the ending & other things (spoilers)

I totally agree. Cornelia was also pretty racist at the beginning, and didn't get all the hatred Nina got (and still gets). Same for Villetta. Furthermore, and I think this could be an unpopular opinion (maybe you're with me in this), I honestly liked her character development a lot. She's one the characters that "grows up" the most in the series. I appreciated how she was able to go against her own feelings towards Zero/Lelouch in order to take part in a plan to save the world. She was completely into Zero Requiem, and our (un)holy trinity could have not accomplished that plan without her brilliant mind and her abnegation (and another one who gets all the hate is the poor Suzaku, by the way).

Yes, Italy is still sexist. I'm young, and I see that young people like me are often open-minded and all, but it's not difficult to find conservative people even among who has 40 to 50 years old. Also unpleasant episodes occur sometimes, in tv or among politicians/famous personalities. And Italy is still a homophobic place too. Well, better than before and more open-minded in the last years, but LGBT+ people can struggle a lot when they live in small towns, for example, and there are lots of them who refuse to come out with family and sometimes even friends.
