Thoughts on grocery stores limiting operating hours?

Yea, I'm not understanding it, needing some enlightment perhaps. While I agree that there should be more cleaning, I think that most of the cleaning that should be ramped up is cleaning that can be done while customers are around anyway, if it's for customer safety. Why condense all the cleaning to the end of the day after all the customers have touched the stuff and shared germs? Why not spread out the cleaning throughout the day?

Also, are there limitations to re-stocking during the day? Don't they do some re-stocking during the day normally? And with less customers at a time in store, doesn't that make it even easier to do re-stocking throughout the day? (Not easier in terms of product volume, but easier to move around)
