Thoughts on iPhone design.

Sorry to be crabby but after 25 years of Apple devotion I'm questioning my loyalty to the brand. There are so many dumb simple things I can't do with my iPhone. So many things getting in my way when I use apps and iOS. So many WTF moments just trying to do basic tasks.

Just today I spent a couple hours trying to get back 10 mysteriously missing gigs of space on an iphone that constantly nags me that its full. iTunes wants to download and install the latest version of iOS (even though it's already on my phone) but gets stuck. Just yesterday my phone went from 30% juice to zero in a matter of seconds. The gmail app is amazing and makes Mail look like something out of Mac OS 9. Siri is dumb. News is full of missing stories and broken crap. When I get in my car and plug the headphone jack into the aux jack and the lightning jack into a USB charger I think about how Ill need a new car or add aftermarket Bluetooth before I get a new iPhone. I deleted instagram because it's a data hog and a memory hog and I'm sick of att charging me yet another $15 for another gig of data.

It's all become a nuisance.

AND for the record I'm single and make six figures. I can afford it. But the buy-in to the ecosystem is so nickle-and-dimey I just don't care any more. It comes across to me as borderline cynical on apples part.
