Thoughts on Jayland Walker shooting (justified, not justified, anything in between)

I'm probably one of the most SOY anti cop SOY people here, but this seems pretty open and shut.

I generally disagree with any kind of high speed pursuit barring some extreme circumstances, they are pretty unsafe for officers and citizens. In this case, it appears a shot was fired from the car, which warrants immediate action. After the chase, Walker got out wearing a ski mask. Cops tried to taze first, and as far as they were aware Walker was still armed. He turned to face them and "motioned towards his waist." That's a wrap.

Now, as far as 8 cops mag dumping a guy? IDK. My knee-jerk is to say that's excessive as fuck, and in a perfect world we would be able to incapacitate a suspect and then make an arrest/provide element of medico, but damn man.

I feel like the only way this ends up being "unjustified" is if the cops literally planted the gun after the fact, and the "shot" from the car turns out to be backfire or something. I think there are a lot of ways this could have gone that don't end up with 8 cops replacing Walker's DNA with 9mm, but that kind of goes out the window if everything is as it seems and Walker did fire at them.
