The democrats supported him.

If an ordinary person came into the Senate Chambers and committed a crime, they'd be cuffed and jailed. So here is someone accusing a judge of a crime and the democrats don't say "cuff him and jail him."

The charges are serious, but not serious enough, apparently for the democrats to care about actually carting him off to jail.

So in reality, they supported him but not wanting to be public about it.

So if you have someone to be ashamed of, be ashamed of the democrats.

In addition, you can be ashamed of the republicans, who basically just sat there like decorations and did nothing to stop the travesty happening in front of them.
