Thoughts on minimalist social media?

I have deleted all my social media accounts except this one and a fb account I keep deactivated most of the time. My goal in minimalism is to release everything from my life that doesn't make life better.

I learn a lot from reddit, as long as I use it as a resource, not a way to lose time, so I have kept it. And I get little value from fb, so I keep it deactivated. I do have friends and relatives in all parts of the US and in other countries who I would probably never communicate with again if we weren't fb friends, so I am keeping my account for now. I go there maybe once a week for 10 or 15 minutes and check to see if everyone appears to be still alive, and I keep Messenger activated so fb friends can contact me if they need to.

I'm learning there are many different definitions of minimalism, so mine may not work for other people, but it works for me. I use it to simplify and enhance the quality of my life, not to deprive myself or cut off resources that are sometimes useful to me.
