You're repeating yourself. I thought it's common sense that dogs protect their owners. Perhaps I was wrong?

Although I don't understand your arguments, because working as LEO doesn't automatically make you become an expert neither. I think you as a LEO should know better about crossfire incident possibilities and how to and when not use a firearm.

But to satisfy your egoistic and ignorant self; if I ever come across such incident, I choose to get bit by the dog rather than to draw a firearm and shoot. Because to shoot someone, let it be a human being or a(n) pet/animal, would be one of the least things I'd want to have to do with a firearm.
