It annoys me when people talk behind a patients back. It’s so unprofessional and sometimes I’m shocked by what some NHS staff say. But you’re right in that it hasn’t jeopardised their healthcare yet.

I can see your point of view about having life ruined by something they said but the student in question is yet to apologise and is probably into her 20s. It’s definitely an iffy case and I suppose I’m glad I’m not making the decision about her. As you know, however, some medical schools and the GMC itself do make harsh decisions doctors don’t always agree with.

With regards to your life, I do empathise with your situation and actually understand where your coming from. I suppose in the future I’ll see plenty of patients who have radical views and it will be annoying but it’s something I just have to keep muted.
