Thoughts? (Posting it in comments)

You know, I was driving down the highway earlier today, ridin' down 20 and I saw an old man maybe in his mid-60s or 70s entertaining a bunch of preschool kids with his magic shows and stuff. I park my car on the side of the curb and go up to him and greet him "Hey, how you doing? Can you show me some tricks please as I am a big fan of magic" etc. With a calm voice and big smile, he says, "Sure, I would love to!" and then he shows me some of his tricks and stuff which were all pretty impressive. I was amazed not at his tricks but his response to my question because it is something I will never ever forget.
After praising his magic I said to him" Hey that was great! If you don't mind me asking, How are you so happy? like What's your secret of life ?" Once again with a calm voice and warm smile on his face, he replies, "That's a great question. I am happy because well, I am alive, have a roof over my head and make just enough money to feed myself three times a day. To answer the other part of your question, the truth is there is no secret to life because everything is right there in front of you and it is up to you how to make the most out of it every day. I was used to be a university professor but I never liked my job because it was too hectic for me and I was never at peace. I never laughed for 3 years or maybe more and one day it felt like everything in my life is falling apart. That night I couldn't sleep and realised that I am not making the most out of my life because I am not really living my life. So I quit my job the very next day and applied to catering and birthday organiser as a magician and child's entertainer because that was my first ever job. Since then I have been living my life the way I want to and now I am more than happy because I make small kids laugh and laugh among them and happy for them as well because they are having the best time of their life." I was amazed when I listened to all that and it was truly eye-opening. He continued, "So in my opinion, there is no secret to life because everything is right there in front of you. You just need to get serious about it and make the most out of it while you still can. Maybe our philosophies differ but I am not asking you to change your opinion towards life and in fact, whatever it is, I truly respect it. So youngblood, just make sure that you are living your life the way YOU want to and, if it makes sense to you, it doesn't have to make sense for others."

Speechless, I was left after listening to his words and no words came into my mind. I replied with a huge Thank You, shook his hand, hugged him and paid him a couple of bucks to have a nice meal as an appreciation from the bottom of my heart.
