In some countries, say Denmark, they "hand over everything they earn" and they're hitting goals to produce huge amounts of their energy renewably.

I agree with you that pushing for the business interests in environmentalism is how things would best work FOR NOW, but that doesn't mean things shouldn't be changed on a larger scale anyway.

The tax argument is such bullshit since clamping down on avoidance and evasion would bring back a good chunk of change for a start. The UN poverty report is another issue. Too many conservative politicians feeding themselves and their friends though.

Considering how much Brits love the NHS, if a tax hike produced public transport systems that run as smoothly and quickly as in say the Netherlands, people would accept it. On the whole I don't think many people mind, but the right wing media agenda etc. are all conversations for another day.
