Thousands gather to block London bridges in climate rebellion - The move is part of a campaign of mass civil disobedience organised by a new group, Extinction Rebellion, which wants to force governments to treat the threats of climate breakdown and extinction as a crisis.

Climate change is most certainly an extinction event.

The human species may survive, but the mass extinction has already started, and even if humans survive it will not be as an industrial species.

It will cause mass starvation, war, mass migration, more war and whatever is left of human society and culture after that, whatever last-bastion of humanity manages to survive in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the desertified earth in the thin strip of arable land in the northern hemisphere.

That's assuming of course that the war over resources doesn't cause some countries to go nuclear.

Maybe you don't a fuck about the next 2-3 generations suffering horribly but I do, I have a daughter who'll live to suffer it if we do nothing in the next 20 years.
