Three to four hours after drinking 32 ounces of energy drinks, the heart’s electrical activity was abnormal compared to drinking a placebo drink, and two different commercially available energy drinks produced the same results, finds a new randomized, double‐masked, placebo‐controlled study.

Sorry, 400mg is not any kind of limit, not even close. I drank 2 cups of coffee, 3 16oz diet sodas, and just finished a 400mg 32oz rockstar 'extreme' drink. That is just this morning between 7am and now, 12pm. And I take adderall every morning. I often drink 2 300mg monster reigns or bang energe drinks (2/$4).

This is the science subreddit so my anecdotes are going to get deleted, but 400mg is not the limit for anyone, excluding obvious medical conditions. I also take 300mg pre workout scoops nearly every day. I have an unlimited free supply of soda and drink hundreds upon hundreds of mg of caffeine every day. I had surgery last year and was required to get a full blood count before they put me under, and everything was obnoxiously in the middle of the 'normal' scale. I exercise every day, which may help I guess, but have a 40s to 50s resting heart rate. This has been going on for years.
