Thank goodness sanity prevails. This is a win for the United States of America and its citizens.
Things could get even more difficult in the next 10 years because of what the current Trump Administration and its enablers are attempting with the 2020 Census.
The current administration and its enablers are trying to interfere with the way funding and resources are calculated and utilized for the USA and its citizenry.
The current administration wants to end the 2020 Census one month early.
That has NEVER been done before.
Why are they doing this?
There is only one reason why they would do this.
By ending it one month early?
They are not collecting all of the data necessary to make decisions.
And from what I understand?
That really hurts America in the long run.
If they can prove through the census that people do not "exist", then that means there are programs that cities, states, and people will not be eligible for or receive funding for.
A vast majority of people will be "missing" because they will not be officially counted!
They don't want them counted.
Think about that and how it affects your communities.
For instance? Just say for example:
If there are 5,000 people in a certain city, but only 2,500 people are counted? That means that the city and its programs will only receive funding for 2,500 people.
What happens to the other 2,500 people?
These 2,500 people are still in existence, and still require and utilize resources.
The funding to provide resources and assistance for these 2,500 people will not be there because they were NOT counted.
Everything from Congressional apportionment to funding for various types of infrastructure (roads, repairs, bridges, etc.) transportation, schools, social services, city planning for future buildings and various types of permits, parks, agriculture / food planning, police and fire departments, etc.
Basically every single thing that you can think of that someone in your city will need to utilize, treat, feed, build, grow, protect, repair, etc.
It's really sad and abhorrent when you think about it.
There are ongoing efforts to stop the slow down. This article portends positive efforts in the right direction.
If you don't complete the census?
It is our future that suffers.
It's the future of our children and our grandchildren that will suffer.
Our children and everyone else that's in front of us down the road will not have access to the funding, resources and infrastructure that we have now.
Because the census numbers will be based on information that is incomplete, and on a population totality that is missing.
And if you have not been counted or have not completed the 2020 Census?
Please complete the 2020 Census online.

There is still time.
And it is that simple!
You will be helping every single person in your community.
In the USA. Because it does "take a village"!
