Throwaways of Reddit, have your stories posted here ever been uncovered by family/friends/spouses? How did it turn out?

Yeah that’s pretty much bullshit. I was raised as a JW (left when I was 15, never baptized) and my ENTIRE family were JWs. My dad was an elder/kingdom hall coordinator and rest of my family were aux pioneers. Granted there was a lot of sadness and persuasion for me to repent/stay but I stuck to my grounds. If you don’t get baptized then those repercussions won’t happen. My dad is my hero, and although we have different views we share a mutual respect and love. The only issue I have is one of my uncles who talks shit behind my back but that’s not a religion problem that’s a shitty family problem. Now the religion isn’t perfect and it does have MUCH to work on ethically (ie child baptizing) but it’s far from a cult. If anything you just had a shitty family/upbringing. Because for the past 20 years of my life my family has been nothing but positive and loving to me even though I’m a heathen lol.
