Thumbnail Styles?

I mean, it is efficient, but this is going to be the first impression to new viewers and also interesting thumbnails will compel your current subscribers to keep watching each new video in the series.

Personally, I use a different thumbnail for each video. When I first started I keep reusing the same thumbnail but I wasn't seeing views or growth. When I look at those videos now, they still aren't pulling views even though my subscriber count has grown exponentially in the last month-and-a-half since I posted them. My other old videos are getting clicks, but the ones with reused thumbnails are falling behind.

I also have the extreme fortune of being close to someone who was trained in social media marketing. She said a few things which have really helped me:

1) Use bold, attention-grabbing text. 2) Human faces draw a gut reaction and make people more likely to click. This might be hard since you don't have a facecam on your channel, but you can use stock photographs or use a drawing that represents yourself maybe? Anything with two eyes, nose, and mouth should work! :D

You should also think about using more color. Black is rarely used as a primary color in marketing. Imagine your thumbnail is the packaging of a new brand of frozen pizza on the grocery store shelf. It will appear alongside a dozen other pizzas, including some that a customer has enjoyed and purchased before. You need to make your packaging compelling enough that the customer (viewer) will sample your product (clicking & watching your video) and then enjoy it so much that they become a repeat customer (subscriber)! I hope this helps explain my reasoning a bit.
