TIFU by blowing off my hand (NSFW)

Hey OP. I am a piano player. I have been playing piano for many years.. I think about 20 at this point. I've acquired examination certificates that actually got me a grade 12 course in high school. (Grade 8 Royal Conservatory of Music Piano, and Grade 2 Royal Conservatory of Music Piano Theory).

Recently, I've been busy with university. I don't get to play piano much. But when I see a piano, I love to play any song I know from memory (this is a special talent, people have said). However, I don't have a keyboard at my current "university home". My buddy has a keyboard (that has weighted keys!) that I love to play, but I think he's starting to get annoyed with me...

I asked for a keyboard once for Christmas. It was an $80 keyboard from BestBuy. I just wanted a keyboard that understood dynamics; I wanted a keyboard that understood a soft push, vs a hard swift FORTE! It was cheap (the keys weren't weighted). What I learned, though, was that this keyboard had recording capabilities. Moreover, I learned this keyboard had LAYERS! I could record one instrument, then layer another instrument on it. ADDITIONALLY, I had a metronome, to help me time my layers accordingly.

This got me thinking. I love music. I love to listen to music. I have actually learned that this digital style keyboard actually sounds so much like real life, it actually could be a style of music! It is. It's called EDM. People have taken these simple recordings on a cheap piano, and put them onto a computer, where you can rearrange the notes, match them up to your timing, and layer them without the worry of memory limits on the keyboard. They've also sound engineered a ton of sounds, but that's complicated weird sciency stuff.

This program on the computer is called Fruity Loops Studio. This is one example that I have used and I like to use. You can connect an $80 dollar keyboard to a computer with this type of software, and create your own digital music.

Well shit, FL Studio cost about $100-$200, sorry. I pray there are other cheaper programs that might help you achieve the same goal. I personally have never invested in any program, only "tried the demo".

The beauty of all of this is simple. You can record on the piano with one hand, then layer another hand on top. I am severely sorry to hear about this tragic event, but seriously OP, this is your opportunity to create and recreate music. If you read this comment and really want, I can look into finding the recordings I've made on my keyboard. I only used one hand to make them.
