I can't imagine this. I lost full use of my dominant hand just after facing my fears of returning to school. I finally followed my passion and went for graphic design. Having a rare but mild form of a serious bone disease, I had a terrible accident at a bar on NYE 2014. I had one drink but every single person there refused to listen to me and played me off as some drunk fool, except my friend watched me go down and said the floor was completely soaked in something (probably alcohol) and the irony was we were leaving because we didn't feel like DRINKING (was there to catch a coworkers show). Literally on my way out, five minutes into the new year I fell and bust my ass in front of a room full of people a few years after relearning how to walk again due to an entirely different saga in my life relating to my spine. Since I could stand up I was obviously elated but strangely as you described I didn't notice a thing until my friend told me to grab my phone someone had caught. I tried but I couldn't feel my hand. And.. tl;Dr turns out I ended up in excruciating pain because I fell on my wrist/arm and bent it completely somehow, then I was in the ER where a doctor didn't take my disease seriously and attempted to set a totally broken wrist by just shifting it while I was wide awake and it ended up costing me nearly a lifetime without use of my hand or wrist. I count myself extremely lucky now since thanks to a fantastic surgeon and a wonderful physical therapist I made a full recovery, but you're incredibly awesome because for that short time... living with out that hand destroyed me and made me realize how much we all take for granted. As an artist in a different sense, I never thought I would go on. I admire you and I know my story is totally 100% different but when I was at the worst in this particular saga I also found an incredible therapist who kept me alive and (mostly) sane. I hope you have good connections and you go on to things you would've never otherwise achieved.
