TIFU by breaking MY BF's jaw while...

I will be 100% honest, being ethnically Irish (I guess) but culturally British is a very messy one to have. Especially considering that my family has a long long history of being Irish soldiers in the British Army going back atleast 120+ years, from Iraq/Afghanistan to the Boer War including WW1/2. Especially considering my family is originally from Dublin. And are Catholic. Given the historic oppression and institutional racism against the Catholic Irish people at the hands of the British Government. I take more pride from having Irish blood, but I also take pride from my family's service to the UK, and I identify as being British, even if I am not necessarily proud of the UK government. I am not culturally Irish etc.

All this started from was an offhand part of my comment anyway because I was curious. Interesting discussion though.
