The idea of them existing doesn’t bother me whatsoever. The idea of anyone seeking a relationship based on it does.

There was a show on MTV a few years back about a girl conceived via donation. She flew around the country meeting siblings, with the hope of eventually meeting the father. There were like 20 brothers and sisters.

I have siblings already. I’m an aunt, I’ve been a bridesmaid multiple times for sisters weddings. We take vacations together and watch each other’s kids and are pretty close overall.

I guess the idea of some 20 year old showing at my door and declaring that they’re my brother and wanting any kind of relationship would make me sad for them. Because I don’t want to have a relationship with that person, and I guess I feel bad about that.
