“Maybe if people are stealing so much baby food, a society should work out why people can't afford to feed their babies instead of just locking up the baby food?”

That seems logical, but it’s not always a matter of affordability. There are a lot of people who manage their money in a way that sacrifices priority for entertainment they feel they “deserve”. Why pay for food if you can steal it and use the money to pay for fun.

We have a couple of relatives that drive really nice cars, have Xbox, PlayStation and computers, brag about how much their tattoo sessions costs, but live in a busted trailer home and feed their kids with food stamps.

And the dad brings home “stuff” from work and says it’s a job perk.
