I applaud you, I'm sorry you got messed up. I hope you heal quickly. Please pass our love and condolences to the little girl and her family if you can. What you did was reckless and dangerous , but I don't think anyone can fault you morally and no one can question your bravery. Scum bags who hurt kids don't deserve to keep sucking air let alone go free.

I can't say what I would have done, I've never been in a situation like that where I could have done anything without getting myself killed. but I would have been mad as hell. Would I have had the balls or anger enough to pursue him alone? I don't know. Would I have had the skill to do anything if I caught him unarmed? Probably not. Do I think that son of a bitch deserves every horrible thing that happens to him and then some? You bet.

I don't blame you for macing the other guy after it was over. I probably would have done a lot worse if I was physically able to after a beating like that. Some might look at it as wrong, but who cares. Fuck him and his good intentions. I figure if you stick your nose into something without having any idea what's going on and no authority to riddle it out, you're an idiot and you deserve to get that nosey snoot chomped a little.

I do recommend carrying a gun in the future if you make a habit of this though. A dead body and the option of joining him discourages stupid people and abbreviates these problems. I don't think I'd have any more problem killing a person like that than a rabid dog. At least a dog didn't decide to be what it is. The court gets burdened either way by calling you justified or putting him in jail, so why waste the effort of sending another habitual criminal into the system?
